The Pie Contest is on the 20th at the Shelter Insurance office on the SW corner of the Gainesville square. Local bakers are encouraged to enter and the top 3 will be chosen and a Grand Champion named! The prize is a Blue Rose Pottery pie dish as well as a custom trophy. Pies can be dropped off starting at 10am until 11:15am on the day of the contest. The festival is also looking for contestants for the Princess and Queen Pageants! Shuttles will run to ferry people from these lots to the event. If the lots fill up\, there is also free street parking. There are also a collection of RV Sites including Rest and Roll On\, Longhorn Arena\, and Beagle Bay RV Haven & Campground. The parade is held on Saturday morning and goes east on Sloan before turning north on Hickory\, then winding around the historic courthouse and ending at Gibbs Park on the corner of Market and South. The parade starts at 9am sharp\, so arrive early to get a good spot.
