38th Annual Persimmon Days in Sparta
This October 17th and 18th, the town of Sparta comes to life with its annual Persimmon Days event! Did you know that, according to legend, you can predict the weather with persimmon seeds? If you split one open and examine the inside, you’ll see one of three shapes. If it looks like a fork, that means a mild winter is coming; a spoon means lots of snow, and a knife shape means a cuttingly cold winter. Here’s everything to know about this year’s Persimmon Day event!

Helpful Tips!
It may be a good idea to bring a stroller for the comfort and safety of younger children. Admission is free, but if you’re planning on purchasing from a vendor, please remember to bring cash as some may not take cards. There will be no ATMs on-site. The parade will take place Saturday the 18th at 10 am. Kids are encouraged to dress up for it! For more information and details, visit them on their website!
