This September 10th through the 14th, come to Sarcoxie for their free Chief Sarcoxie Days Festival. The town of Sarcoxie was initially called Centerville when it was founded in 1931, but was later renamed after Chief Sarcoxie of the Delaware tribe in 1839. This yearly event honors the town’s rich history with Native Americans.
It may be a good idea to bring a stroller for the comfort and safety of younger children. Some vendors may be cash only, so plan accordingly. For a full festival schedule, please visit them on their website or Facebook page! This event will be held in downtown Sarcoxie square located near the Sarcoxie Veteran Memorial at 6th St and Center St.
